Businessmen Arrested over Illegal Drug Shipments to Nigeria, Italy

NDLEA agents apprehended Arokodare Damil Ebenezer, a businessman based in Lekki and Proprietor of Damillionz Takeout

In connection with the importation of 60 boxes of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, from the United States of America to Nigeria, NDLEA agents have apprehended Arokodare Damil Ebenezer, a businessman based in Lekki and proprietor of Damillionz Takeout.

According to a statement released by the anti-drug agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the 43-year-old businessman was apprehended on Monday, 24th March 2025, at Bay Lounge, Admiralty Way, Lekki area of Lagos, where he engages in illicit drug dealing.

Babafemi added that the businessman was expecting to receive delivery of his latest shipment of drugs at the time of the arrest.

Babafemi said, “His arrest followed the seizure of his cargo that arrived Nigeria in seven big cartons at a logistics company in Lagos on 12th March by NDLEA operatives of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation.

“After his arrest, he was taken to his Lekki home for a search during which 94grams of the same psychoactive substance, cannabis crusher and other drug paraphernalia were recovered. This brings the total weight of the drug seized from him to 32.24 kilograms.”

According to Babafemi, the suspect indicated in his statement that he began the illegal drug business in the year 2017.

Omoruyi Terry, another businessman, attempted to export 1,400 pills of tramadol 225mg weighing 800 kg to Italy. However, the attempts were prevented by police from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.

On his way to Italy through a Qatar Airways flight, he was stopped at the screening point of terminal 2 at the Lagos airport.

According to the findings of the investigation, the suspect is a logistics agent and frequent traveler who is stationed in Italy.
