Customer hit Ani many times, which led to him collapsing and ultimately passing away.

Ifeanyi Ani, a security guard, was allegedly beaten to death by customer at an eatery in Rumukrushi, which is located in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

The Rivers State Police Command has detained the customer for such an alleged crime. As a result of a confrontation with the customer, Ani was beaten to death on Thursday, according to my sources.

When the customer parked his car at the restaurant, he left his headlights on, which led to the incident that took place. It was said that Ani approached the vehicle with the intention of requesting that the owner dim the lights, but instead discovered the man’s wife inside the vehicle.

While the security officer was taking the time to explain the request to the woman, the customer appeared and questioned him about the conversation he was having with his wife.

Ani’s attempt to emphasize that he was merely requesting that the headlights be dimmed resulted in an argument, as stated by several who witnessed the incident.

It was stated that the customer hit Ani many times, which led to him collapsing and ultimately passing away.

“It was like a movie. People tried to intervene, but the man refused to stop and kept hitting the security guard. I think the deceased was from Enugu State.”

The suspect was handed over to the Mini-Okoro Police Division by the restaurant management following the incident.

Grace Iringe-Koko, a spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, verified the occurrence and the suspect’s detention.

She said, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The man has been arrested and is in our custody. Investigation is ongoing.”

The sister of the deceased, Chinaza Ani, addressed the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign and their partner organization, “Lawyers Watch for Justice International,” according to the rights group’s statement on the subject.

Chinaza later requested the organization to delay action, according to Prince Wiro, the centre’s national coordinator, because the family had plans to speak with specific individuals about the situation.
