Govs Greet Muslims on Sallah

The reports of sighting the new moon was duly verified and authenticated by the Sultanate Council Moon Committee.

Governors extend their congratulations to Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of the end of the Ramadan fast and the beginning of the first day of Shawwal 1446 AH. Today, Nigerian Muslims are joining their counterparts in many other areas of the world.

He made the announcement that the new moon of Shawwal 1446 AH has been observed.

The declaration was made by Abubakar in a special broadcast held in his palace in Sokoto on Saturday night. The broadcast was directed toward the Muslim Ummah.

As a result of reports that were received by the moon sighting committee from traditional Muslim leaders and organizations located all throughout the nation, he stated that the new moon was observed in a number of different regions of the country.

He said, “The reports of sighting the new moon was duly verified and authenticated by the Sultanate Council Moon Committee.

“Consequent upon this, tomorrow Sunday, 30th March 2025 become the first day of Shawwal 1446 AH and the day of the Eid el Fitr.”

Gov Seyi Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Saturday, felicitated the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and across the country on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri 2025.

He congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the 2025 Ramadan.

He said, “I congratulate my brothers and sisters in Islam on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri, which signals the end of Ramadan.

“I particular laud them for the perseverance, faith and trust in Allah, sacrificial living and giving, good neighbourliness, among other virtues demonstrated before and during the fasting.

“I want to charge them to continue to uphold these values, to continue to pray and support the government at all levels and to continue to work with us to sustain the religious harmony we are enjoying in Oyo State.

“As an administration, we have made a commitment to continue to put the people’s interest first and to develop our great state in a sustainable way, but we cannot achieve this in an atmosphere of religious disharmony and intolerance. Eid Mubarak to everyone.”

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold dedication in the worship of Allah beyond the Ramadan period.

The Governor extends his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in a message via his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.

The governor brought to their attention the fact that the teachings of the Quran and Hadith centered on the principles of love, humility, discipline, and peace.

While thanking Allah for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Governor emphasizes that the festival revolves around love, almsgiving to the less privileged, and peaceful coexistence with people of different religions.

The governor calls on the Muslim faithful to use the period to pray for enduring peace in Nigeria as a whole and in Niger State in particular, as well as for all leaders to continue to serve humanity selflessly.
