Breaking: Customs Generated N6.1trn in 2024- Comptroller

The Nigeria Customs Service has declared that it has collected a total of N6.105 trillion in revenue for 2024.

It stated that the figure represents a 90.4 percent rise over the N3.2 trillion recorded in 2023, indicating a significant boost in the service’s income production efforts over the previous year. Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of Customs, announced this at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, when he presented a review of the NCS’s performance in 2024. The CGC said that the service exceeded its 2024 revenue target of N5.07 trillion by 22%.

The customs boss added that the service achieved its highest monthly revenue remittance in October, amounting to N603bn.He also said the service crossed new heights of trade facilitation and revenue collection.

He said, “The Nigerian Customs Service recorded an unprecedented performance in 2024, the service recorded N6.105tn. This is above the N5.07tn 2024 revenue target by 22 per cent.”
