On Thursday morning,19th of December 2024, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced on announced that it has reduced the price of petrol to N899.50k per litre.
The announcement was made just weeks after the company previously lowered the price to N970 per liter on November 24.
The Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina said the reduction was designed to ease transport costs during the festive period.
In addition to the price reduction, he said that for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will be allowed to buy another litre on credit backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
The company thanked Nigerians for their continued support as the country enters the festive season.
He emphasised that the refinery’s operations mark the end of Nigeria being a dumping ground for substandard and ‘blended’ imported products, which have posed significant risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
