Over 8,000 applicants competed for a total of 100 positions across clinical and non-clinical cadres during the exercise

An ongoing recruitment exercise was held by the David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH) at Uburu, which is located in the Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi state with more than 8,000 individuals participated in the activities.

In December 2024, the hospital launched an advertisement for the vacancies available in both the clinical and non-clinical cadres.

Over 8,000 applicants competed for a total of 100 positions across clinical and non-clinical cadres during the exercise, which entered its second day on Thursday at Unity Square in Abakaliki.

There were a total of 1,540 clinical applicants who were interviewed and verified on Wednesday.

The activity was held in Abakaliki city. Dr. Jimoh Salaudeen, who is the Director of Hospital Services, is in charge of the exercise, which is being supervised by representatives from the Federal Ministry of Health, the Federal Character Commission, and the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation at the same time.

Claudine addressed the applicants and instructed them on the technique of the interview process. She also explained that the interview is set to take place over the course of three days.

Dr. Salaudeen Jimoh, Director of Hospital Services; Dr. Dogara Okarw, Dr. Francis Soroaye, Dr. Kayode Oke, and Odoh Christianah are among the members of the committee that is conducting the interview and they are all officials from the Federal Ministry of Health.

Mr. Sunday Babalola, Assistant Director Establishment and Workshop Planning, and Mrs. Jane Anakwue, Principal Admin Officer, were the individuals who represented the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. On the other hand, Maigari Tibril and Mbonu Ifeoma were the figures who represented the Federal Character Commission.

Professor Uzoma Agwu, who serves as the Chief Medical Director of DUFUTH, was working diligently to ensure that the interview process went off without a hitch.

Uzoma was supported by the Chaiam of Medical Advisory Council of the Hospital (C-MAC), Dr. Darlington-Peter Ugoji, Acting Director HRMD Okoro Chima Kalu, and other important officers.
