The exclusion from the activities of YPP and the need to embrace a better platform to represent the wishes of my people is the reason for this decision

Clara Nnabuife, a member of the House of Representatives, has resigned from the Young Progressives Party and is now a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

As the reason for her defection, Nnabuife, who represents the Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Constituency in Anambra State, cited the fact that she was excluded from participating in party activities.

In a letter of defection that was read on the floor of the House at Thursday’s plenary, Nnabuife declared that her new party will provide her with a better platform to reflect the aspiration of her district. Benjamin Kalu, who presided in the absence of Tajudeen Abbas, who was the Speaker of the House, was the one who read the letter.

The letter partly read, “The exclusion from the activities of YPP and the need to embrace a better platform to represent the wishes of my people is the reason for this decision.”
