Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are set to kick off their 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations campaign in Korhogo, Côte d’Ivoire, with their group stage matches scheduled at the 20,000-capacity Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium.

The seven-time African champions will face Egypt’s Young Pharaohs in their opener on Wednesday, April 30, at 5 p.m. local time (6 p.m. Nigeria time).

The team, fresh off defending their WAFU B U20 Championship title in Lome in October 2024 to secure qualification, will then meet Morocco’s Young Atlas Lions on Saturday, May 3, at 8 p.m. local time (9 p.m. Nigeria time) at the same venue.

The West Africans will conclude their Group B fixtures against South Africa on Tuesday, May 6, starting at 5 p.m. local time (6 p.m. Nigeria time), also in Korhogo.

Currently training in Katsina with support from the state government, the Flying Eagles—quarter-finalists at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina—are in the initial phase of their preparations for the tournament.

A semi-final finish in Côte d’Ivoire would earn them a place at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile, set for September 27 to October 19, 2025.
