Osun Communal Clashes: Governor Adeleke Imposes 24-Hour Cufew

The Osun State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the affected areas. This action follows the escalation of communal clashes between Ifon and Ilobu communities. The curfew, which took effect immediately, aims to restore order and prevent further loss of lives and property.

The Osun communal clashes between Ifon and Ilobu communities started on Tuesday, with reports of violence and destruction of property. The clashes began due to a dispute over a piece of land. This land has been a subject of contention between the two communities for years.


Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured the people of Ilobu and Ifon communities. He stated that speedy conflict resolution steps are being taken. These measures aim to restore peace. He expressed that he is directing the emergency services agency to activate its operations.

Governor Adeleke responded to a Save Our Soul message from the people of Ilobu and Ifon. He said his administration has re-strategized. The focus is on resolving the conflict with multiple peacebuilding options. These options are being unveiled and implemented.

“I assure the people of Ilobu and Ifon that I am committed to securing their lives and properties. I have updated the presidency of development in the state. We are on top of the situation”, the governor was quoted as saying.

Although the ongoing conflict is regrettable, all efforts are focused on stopping the violence. We inform the public to be aware of the fake news merchants. These individuals are digging up old videos to discredit the state government.

The videos being circulated of violence in other towns and villages in Osun are fake news and should be disregarded by the members of the public.
