Man Kills Two Sons Over Poor Grades – Vanapalli Chandra Kishore, an Indian man, accountant who was 31 years old, took his life after killing his two sons, who were six and seven years old, because of their poor scholastic performance.

The note that Kishore left behind for his suicide stated that he had come to the realization that his two children, who were in upper kindergarten (UKG) and class I, were not performing well academically and would have a difficult time establishing themselves in a world that is extremely competitive.

On the evening of Friday, March 14, 2025, the terrible tragedy took place in Ramanayyapet, which is located in the town of Kakinada in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Inspector B Peddi Raju of the Sarpavaram police station stated that Kishore was employed as an assistant at the ONGC office, which is located in Kankinada — an oil business.

Joshith, 7, and Nikhil, 6, Kishore’s sons from his 2017 marriage to Tanuja Sai Rani, attended a private school in the area.

“He killed his two sons by tying up their hands and legs and drowning them in two buckets of water. The family is financially stable, so his actions are surprising.”

Because the children were not performing well in school, the parents took the decision to move them to a more suitable school beginning with the new academic year. In addition, they inquired about the possibility of doing so.

Along with his family, Kishore went to the ONGC office in Vakalapudi village, Kakinada rural mandal, on Friday to celebrate Holi with his coworkers. Just a short while after arriving, he informed his wife that he was going to see a tailor about getting new school uniforms sewn for the kids.

Taking the kids out for a walk, he left her in the office. Upon their prolonged absence, she made multiple attempts to contact her husband via his mobile phone, but he remained unresponsive.

Kishore eventually texted to say he’d be right back in 10 minutes. However, he came back empty-handed.

Tanuja and one coworkers arrived to find the doors to their residence locked from the inside, causing Tanuja great concern.

After several frantic attempts to get someone’s attention inside failed, Kishore’s colleague contacted some neighbors and forced their way in.

Joshith and Nikhil were discovered lifeless in the restroom. They had their legs bound, and their heads lowered into water-filled buckets.

A police officer said, “How the kids aged six and seven, in UKG and class 1, will fare in the real world cannot be judged so early. We are not sure what their father thought. There could be other reasons why Kishore took this extreme step.

“We came to know that the kids had joined a new school recently, and they were not coping well with the change, We are investigating all angles.”
