Obi Donates N10m – Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the general election from 2023, has expressed his gratitude to the officials of the Ahiara Catholic Diocese in Imo State for their dedication to the advancement of education in Nigeria.

This remark was offered by Obi on Friday, just after he presented a donation of N10 million to the Holy Rosary College of Nursing, which is now undergoing development.

Following the presentation of the N10 million cheque to the Bishop of the Ahiara Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Simeon Nwobi, who was accompanied by the vicar-general, Very Reverend Fr. Godson Okoro, the financial administrator, Reverend Laz Iwu, and the bishop’s secretary, Reverend Matthew Iwuazu, among others, the former governor of Anambra State praised the individuals for their outstanding contributions to the nation.

Peter Obi said, “My Lord, what you are doing is a favour to our country. So, this donation is not a favour being done to you. You are helping to build a better country. So, I will be part of what you are doing here. I will always come to support you because you are building a better future for our country.”

Bishop Nwobi praised Obi for his unrelenting efforts to improve Nigeria and praised him for his accomplishments.


“We are not only grateful to you for coming to make this donation to us, you have been doing a lot for our country to be better. Count on our prayers for the will of God to be done in your life.”

IREPORT247NEW  reported on February 14 that Peter Obi donated N10 million to Mater Misericordiae College of Nursing Sciences in Afikpo, Ebonyi State.

Obi observed the school continuous infrastructure improvements, and roughly 1,000 students enrolled, Obi promised to assist them in their endeavors. He initially donated ₦10 million to support healthcare professional training.

Obi wrote, “Established in 1946, it is one of Nigeria’s pioneering healthcare institutions.

“It’s Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, founded in 1952 and 1953, have produced thousands of professionals who continue to play vital roles in the medical field.

“The college currently has about 1,000 students and is undertaking several infrastructural upgrades. To support their efforts, I reaffirmed my commitment to collaborating with them in training Nigerian healthcare professionals and made an initial donation of ₦10 million.

“In my address to the students, I underscored the importance of healthcare as a fundamental indicator of human development and acknowledged the invaluable role of nurses and medical practitioners in national progress. I urged them to remain dedicated to their studies, especially in light of the increasing global demand for healthcare workers.

“I also commended the institution’s staff for their dedication and the remarkable work they are doing. Additionally, I appreciate the Ebonyi State Government for its collaboration with the school in the shared interest of the state and the nation.”
