16-year-old girl was seen hanged with a rope on a tree at Kalarin mountain without any marks of violence found on her body.

Girl Found Hanging in Gombe – It has been reported by the Gombe Police Department that a young girl named Maryam Samuel, who was 16 years old, was discovered dead in what appeared to be a suicide at the Kaltungo hamlet located inside the Kaltungo Local Government Area of the state.

The finding led to discussion over the circumstances that led to her death. DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the incident on Saturday in Gombe. He stated that the teenage girl was found hanging from a tree in the Kalarin township.

Abdullahi revealed that the incident took place on March 14, which was less than twenty-four hours after the deceased person had left their residence to go and get firewood.

Abdullahi stated, “On Friday, at about 9:00 a.m., a case of suicide was reported at Kaltungo Divisional Headquarters by the village head of Kalarin. The deceased, later identified as 16-year-old Maryam Samuel, from Kalarin ward, was seen hanged with a rope on a tree at Kalarin mountain without any marks of violence found on her body.”

In addition, he mentioned that Maryam’s body had been taken to the General Hospital in Kaltungo, where an inquiry was being conducted to determine the complete set of events that led to her death.

It was determined through preliminary research that Maryam had left her house on Thursday to get firewood, but she never actually came back.

On the other hand, a source close to the family, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, claimed that the teen girl was pregnant and that her boyfriend was the individual responsible for the pregnancy. Because her parents discovered she was often visiting the alleged boyfriend, the source asserted that the pregnancy had resulted in a fight between the two parties.

These allegations have not been verified by the authorities; nonetheless, it is anticipated that further investigations will shed more light on the terrible incident.
