Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa over multiple fraudulent allegations.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon Lasbat Meranda, has been elected to replace him. The Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed, has also been elected as the Deputy Speaker. Obasa was impeached due to financial scandal.
Obasa’s Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, has not responded to phone calls and a text message regarding the development as of the time of filing this report.
