The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Jamiu Adebayo, 17, for allegedly defiling his neighbor’s eight-year-old daughter in the Aregbe area of Abeokuta, the state capital. According to the report, the culprit allegedly enticed the survivor into his parents’ sitting room, asked her to remove her underwear, and then defiled her.
The command acknowledged the occurrence, noting that the suspect had been arrested and that a comprehensive investigation was ongoing to determine the circumstances behind the crime.
According to the command’s spokeswoman, Omolola Odutola, that the survivor’s mother, Olabode, was gone when neighbours called to tell her that blood was gushing from her daughter’s private parts. She saw that the survivor had initially stated
According to the command, Olabode told the police that when she got at the scene, she was astonished and scared to see blood streaming from her daughter’s private parts.
While attempting to determine the reason of the bleeding, our correspondent discovered that all efforts to encourage the girl to confess what had occurred were unsuccessful, as she insisted on the same explanation she had given her neighbours—that a stick had wounded her private parts.
Following additional coercion and persuasion, the survivor allegedly admitted to her mother that a 17-year-old Adebayo, who lived in the neighboring building, had raped her.
According to the command, the survivor revealed that the suspect brought her into their sitting room, where he reportedly climbed on top of her and sexually assaulted her. Odutola stated, “The suspect led her (the survivor) to their bathroom to clean the blood before instructing her to change into another pair of panties.
He also urged her to lie, claiming that a stick had caused the harm to her private areas. “Detectives jumped into action and captured the suspect.
The victim and her mother have received a medical paperwork to complete and report. “Preliminary investigations are currently underway.”
