LASEPA SEALS CHURCH– The Flame Gospel Ministry International (Centre of Grace) has been shut down by the government of Lagos State after several citizens lodged concerns about the extreme noise pollution that it causes.
This was confirmed by Tunde Ajayi, the General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), who responded to the concerns on social media.
Earlier, Ms. Sururoh had resorted to social media in order to voice her annoyance with the continuous noise that emanated from the church.
Sururoh wrote, “Dear Lagos State Government, This is long overdue please. We’ve been reporting this case for over a year now and nothing has been done. We went out to meet them that their noise is disturbing us seriously and they had to increase it. In response to a complaint online that was submitted by a local citizen named Ms. Sururoh, Ajayi merely commented, “Sealed!”
On 28 February, IREPORT247NEW reported that The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has undertaken a significant enforcement campaign, which has resulted in the closure of a number of enterprises located around the state for violating environmental standards.
The raid targeted businesses in Surulere, Lagos Mainland, Agege, and Kosofe, among other localities, with the primary focus being on the illegal placement of gas refilling facilities and the release of excessive amounts of noise pollution.
Gas plants, Hotels, religious centers, and industries were among the establishments that were shut down after it was discovered that they were in violation of state environmental rules.
Several gas refilling factories, including Chibuzor Gas and Dolax Gas, as well as Eco Fresh, a firm that produces pure water, were given the green light to operate in residential neighborhoods.
A number of religious organizations, including the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the Assemblies of God Church, and the Anwarul Islam Movement, were also affected.
In addition, the agency expanded its activities to include Maza Maza, Festac Town, Abule Ado, Navy Town, Satellite Town, Ori Ade Amuwo, Agboju, and Amuwo.
More establishments, including as lounges, restaurants, motels, and warehouses, were shut down in these villages.
