Wilfred Ndidi of the Super Eagles is the fourth most defensive Premier League midfielder this season, according to Soccernet.

Ndidi has been one of Leicester City’s greatest players this season, despite their problems since being promoted to the English Premier League. The 28-year-old Nigerian midfielder has made 15 Premier League appearances and provided four assists.

However, he has been out of action since the beginning of December, missing the Foxes’ last six games in all competitions. Since his injury, they have only won once, against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup.

Leicester City has conceded at least two goals in each of its games since Ndidi’s injury. Now, a new research by Data MB has shed light on why the club has been struggling. According to their findings, Ndidi has the fourth-most defensive actions in the Premier League this season.

Ndidi has 181 actions, trailing just Moises Caicedo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Bruno Guimaraes. In that statistic, he outperforms other elite midfielders in the league, like Alexis MacAllister, Casemiro, and Youri Tielemans.

There are no other Leicester City midfielders in the top 16, which could explain their troubles after Ndidi’s injury. The Foxes are now fighting for their life in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, Ndidi will return to action within the next two weeks, and coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy will be hoping for better results.
