NDLEA Arrested Auto Parts Dealer for Cocaine Smuggling. NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi announced the significant arrest of Levi Chidiebele Ubodoeze, an automobile spare parts dealer. who attempted to export two kilograms of cocaine concealed in vehicle propellers to Angola.

This arrest was made possible through effective bilateral intelligence, sharing and cooperation, between the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and authorities in Angola.

The operation was triggered after the cocaine was seized at a logistics company located in Aspanda. Trade Fair Complex, Ojo area of Lagos on February 21, 2025. Following this seizure, immediate contact was initiated with Angolan authorities. Who arrested the intended recipient of the drugs. On March 6, NDLEA operatives tracked Ubodoeze to his residence in the Ago Palace Way area of Isolo, Lagos. He was apprehended while attempting to flee in a KIA Sport Utility Vehicle. During the search of his home, officers discovered a substantial quantity of phenacetin. A cutting agent commonly used in cocaine trafficking, weighing 75.50 kilograms, packaged and labelled as semolina.

Additionally, they recovered a digital scale, which is often used, for weighing illicit substances.

According to Babafemi, Ubodoeze confessed to his role in the cocaine trade. Prompting been selling automobile spare parts at Ladipo Market in Mushin, Lagos.

He revealed that he was alerted by the recipient in Angola about their arrest. Prompting his rushed attempt to evacuate his home and escape shortly before NDLEA officers arrived.

In another operation on March 7, NDLEA operatives intercepted a commercial truck in the Ojo area of Lagos. Leading to the arrest of two suspects, China Michael and Igbo Ekene.

The truck was found transporting 248 compressed. Blocks of a potent cannabis strain known as Ghanaian Loud. Weighing a total of 128 kilograms, concealed within the underbelly of the vehicle.

Additionally, on the same day, three suspects—Osinachi Nwachukwu, Tochukwu Okafor Christian, and John Ugochukwu Mbakwe—were apprehended, at Mosalasi Junction in Mushin. Possession of 301,600 pills of tramadol and other opioids.

In Kano State, another operation led to the arrest of 65-year-old Yahaya Haruna on March 6. Who was found with, 19.2 kilograms of skunk.
