Two Lagos industrial workers die after falling into a diesel reservoir.

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), released a statement announcing the deaths of two male factory workers who fell into a diesel reservoir in the Ikosi area of Lagos state

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, preliminary investigations showed that “one of the men (an adult) accidentally fell into the diesel reservoir while working,” and that the second worker fell into the reservoir while attempting to rescue his colleague.

Both victims were rescued by LASEMA and fire service officials who arrived at the scene.

“Both victims sustained severe conditions and were promptly transported” to the hospital by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) after receiving first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),” according to the statement.

Despite every attempt to revive them, Oke-Osanyintolu continued, the victims subsequently passed away in the hospital facility.
