Government Bago forms two special committees

Two special committees have been established in Niger State by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.

The committees are the 18-member Committee on Boundary Dispute between Bida and Kontagora Emirates and the 21-member State Committee on Population and Housing Census.

The two committees were concurrently inaugurated by the governor at Government House’s Council Chamber in Minna.

He expressed confidence in the personalities that constituted the Committees and called on them to justify the confidence reposed on them by being committed and diligent in discharging their duties.

The Governor assured the Committees of his unwavering support to ensure they achieve their set objectives.

Speaking to Journalists, the Alternate Chairman of the Committee on Population and Housing Census, who doubles as the Federal Commissioner representing Niger State at the National Population Commission, (NPC) Mohammed Dattijo Usman, commended the Governor for finding them worthy of the Committee.

He claimed that the committee’s makeup is quite heavy and promised that it will get right to work doing all it can for the state and the country as a whole.

The Population and Housing Census Committee is chaired by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, with Dr. Sylvester Christopher, Director-General, Niger State Population and Census Directorate, serving as its secretary.

Meanwhile, the Committee on Boundary Dispute between Bida and Kontagora Emirates is chaired by Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Abubakar Usman, with Abbas Bello serving as co-chairman and Dr. Hussaini Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary Lands, as the secretary.
