US President Donald Trump recently stated that he finds it easier to work with Russia than Ukraine in efforts to end the war in Ukraine. Trump expressed that he trusts Vladimir Putin, saying “I believe him” during a televised press conference at the White House. He also mentioned that he’s had a good relationship with Putin and believes Putin wants to end the war.

Trump’s comments came after he pushed Ukraine hard, ordering a pause in US military and intelligence assistance to apply more pressure. Despite threatening new sanctions on Russia, Trump understood why Putin’s forces launched a massive bombing campaign across Ukraine overnight, stating that Putin is doing what anyone in his position would do.

Trump also warned Ukraine’s President Zelensky that if he doesn’t want to settle, the US will withdraw its involvement, saying “I’m doing it to stop death.” This development highlights the complex dynamics at play in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
