Ibadan Court Remands Two for Stealing Cooking Pots

According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Oluseye Akinola, Lawal broke into the house of Olaitan Omola and stole the pots, which he then sold to Otubo for N11,000. The offences allegedly contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II Laws of Oyo State 2000.

A Chief Magistrate Court in Ibadan has remanded two individuals, Faruk Lawal, 25, and Blessing Otubo, 45, for allegedly stealing three cooking pots valued at N100,000. The duo was accused of committing the crime on March 1 at Iyemetu Area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Oluseye Akinola, Lawal broke into the house of Olaitan Omola and stole the pots, which he then sold to Otubo for N11,000. The offences allegedly contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Latunji, ordered the defendants to be remanded in Agodi Correctional Center in Ibadan, as they were unable to meet their bail conditions. Each defendant was admitted to a bail of N50,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned until April 9 for hearing.
