A 32-year-old sex worker named Riyanatu Musa has been taken into custody by the Adamawa State Police Command on suspicion of fatally stabbing a barman during a fight. The barman, Yohanna Musa, was killed by a sex worker from the Mubi South local government area during a fight over the last N200 worth of alcohol.
According to SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the state’s police public relations officer, the sex worker has since admitted to the horrible crime under questioning.
The sex worker claimed to have collected dry gin, also known as “Big Ben,” and another from the victim, promising to pay the next day. She paid N1,500, leaving N200 for the remaining balance, according to the PPRO.
She explained that she and the victim got into a confrontation after he demanded money, and that during their argument, she fatally stabbed him in the chest with a knife.
Although she admitted to drinking alcohol, the mother of two denied consuming beer on the day of the event and expressed sorry for her behavior.
Morris Dankombo, the Commissioner of Police, has ordered a confidential investigation into the matter, according to SP Nguroje, who also cautioned the public against enforcing laws on their own.
