As the Wrexham manager reaches a significant milestone with Wrexham, Sir Alex Ferguson, a legend of Manchester United, issued a special tribute note to Phil Parkinson.

Parkinson just achieved the remarkable milestone of managing 1,000 games as a professional manager, garnering praise from football fans worldwide.

On Saturday, Sir Alex showed up to Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground to support Peterborough United, who is led by his son Darren Ferguson, rather than the Hollywood-owned squad. The appearance of the renowned manager also evoked memories because he used to regularly attend Wrexham games while Darren was a member of the team from 1999 to 2007.

The actual game was intense, with Parkinson’s joyous event almost being ruined by Peterborough United, led by Darren Ferguson. Even though there was a goalless tie for the majority of the match, Wrexham won 1-0 thanks to a late header from Steven Fletcher in the 87th minute.

Ferguson taped a congratulations message for Parkinson prior to the Wrexham match. “1,000 games is fantastic – what an achievement,” stated the player. “You’ve had many wonderful, interesting adventures along the road. I wish you great success in your management – perhaps not today, but otherwise, well done.” Parkinson has led Wrexham to 122 victories in his 197 games as manager.

Under his leadership, Wrexham has risen to third place in League One, level on points with Wycombe. The club is still focused on securing promotion, with their next task coming on Tuesday against Port Vale in the Football League Trophy third round.
