The arrest of Ihsanatu Shaaibu and another unidentified suspect for the physical abuse of her five-year-old stepdaughter has been announced by the Nigeria Police Force.
This was announced on Thursday on X.com in a statement that was signed by ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer.
Adejobi said that the arrest happened earlier Thursday and that enquiries are now being conducted to make sure that justice is done.
The statement said, “Child abuse: Regarding the widely shared video in which a woman going by the name Ihsanatu Shaaibu severely injured and physically tortured her five-year-old stepdaughter.
The suspects were taken into custody today, Thursday, January 9, 2025, and will face charges as soon as the investigations are finished. We’ll keep you updated on the situation.
