Nigeria’s para-badminton players showcased their skills on the second day of the 2025 Spanish Para Badminton International, delivering standout performances in Toledo, Spain.
Mariam Eniola Bolaji, a rising star in the women’s category, made quick work of Brazil’s Kauana Michelson, securing a decisive victory in just 20 minutes with a score of 21-15, 21-2 across two straight sets. The Paralympian now sets her sights on her next challenge, a match against France’s Coraline Bergeron.

In the men’s competition, Chigozie Nnanna continued his winning streak in Group H, overpowering France’s Teddy Ferrazza 21-4, 21-4 in Round 2 of the Men’s Singles SL4 on Wednesday. This triumph follows his earlier 2-0 victory (21-8, 21-13) over Turkey’s Sukru. Elsewhere, Eze Chukwuebuka Sunday added to Nigeria’s successes, defeating Slovakia’s Raven Klien with a commanding 21-4, 21-8 scoreline.

However, not all outcomes favored Nigeria. Chinyere Lucky Okoro faced a tough defeat in the women’s category, falling 12-21, 7-21 to India’s Palak Kohli.
As the tournament progresses, Nigeria’s athletes remain in strong contention, with hopes high for further victories.
