Senate President Godswill Akpabio has vehemently denied allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Speaking during today’s National Assembly plenary, Akpabio stated that he has never attempted to sexually harass Akpoti-Uduaghan or any other woman.
Akpabio attributed his respect for women to his upbringing by his late single mother, who instilled in him values of dignity and respect. As a father to four daughters, he emphasized his commitment to treating women with respect and dignity.
Referencing his past achievements as a state governor, Akpabio noted that he was recognized as the “most gender-friendly governor in Nigeria” during his tenure from 2007 to 2015.
Akpabio cautioned Nigerians, particularly the media and social media users, to await the court’s decision on the matter, emphasizing the importance of not rushing to judgment based on unsubstantiated allegations.
