Sanwo-Olu, has authorized FirstBank Group to commence construction of its eco-friendly headquarters in Eko Atlantic City.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has granted FirstBank Group permission to begin building of its environmentally friendly headquarters in Eko Atlantic City by presenting the company with a certificate of official clearance.

During his remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony that took place on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu also made the presentation.

A forty-story structure that is going to be the highest building in Nigeria is going to be built by the bank, according to an announcement that was made.

The project was referred to be a technological and environmental marvel, featuring construction that is technologically advanced, environmentally friendly, and smart.

It is expected to establish a new standard for the market of financial services in Africa.

Sanwo-Olu said, “FirstBank, as always, has taken the lead. I want to thank the visionaries who have created a new city that will serve as Africa’s model city — one we will all be proud of.

“Mr Femi Otedola, well done. Well done to your board and well done to your management. CBN Governor, thank you for the approval. We hope you extend similar approvals to other financial institutions, as there is space for them too.

“I am now handing over a certificate of approval for them to commence work immediately.”

There were a number of dignitaries present at the ceremony, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, the governors of Ogun and Ondo states. Dapo Abiodun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Aliko Dangote, Gilbert and Roland Chagoury, Dr. Deji Adeleke, Tunde Folawiyo, and Bukola Saraki, and so on.
