Elisha was found to be the owner of a forged revolver rifle that was concealed in a black bag during the procedure of checking the car.
In Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State, members of the Operations SAFE HAVEN and LAFIYAN JAMA’A have apprehended a person who is suspected of being a gunrunner.
On March 3, 2025, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, who serves as the Media Information Officer for Operation SAFE HAVEN, made this information public in a statement.
It reads, “Operation SAFE HAVEN is poised to make its Joint Operations Area safe from criminal elements. We therefore urge the general public to continue to furnish troops with useful and timely information, while we champion the restoration of permanent peace to our JOA.”
When forces carried out sting operations based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of weaponry and ammunition by criminal elements, these actions resulted in the arrest of the suspect, as stated in the statement.
At the Mallagun checkpoint in the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, when the operation was taking place on March 3, 2025, the forces were able to seize a blue-colored OPEL VECTRA Saloon automobile.
One of the passengers, named as Mr. Anthony Elisha, aged 24 years old and hailing from Sanga Local Government Area in Kaduna State, was found to be the owner of a forged revolver rifle that was concealed in a black bag during the procedure of checking the car.
When the suspect was being questioned in the preliminary stage, he admitted that he was the owner of the bag that contained the weapon.
He also stated that he had been sent by a member of the civil police force to transfer the weapon to another criminal in Rami Kura, which is located in the Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The suspect is currently being held in custody, and he is providing information on his associates to members of the military in order to assist them in carrying out follow-up operations to catch members of the criminal syndicate as well as others.
