He was assassinated the moment he left the mosque after Taraweeh prayer, very close to his house, around 8:35 p.m. on Saturday.
Ismaila Awoyinka, a businessman, was reportedly killed by a group of assassins on Saturday in Ore, which is the headquarter of the Odigbo Local Government Area in the state of Ondo.
It was reported that the deceased businessman, who was a vendor of building materials, was murdered on Saturday evening at his apartment in the Idi Mango neighborhood of Ore, which is located directly across from Caring Heart Mega School.
According to a source within the community, the incident took place not long after the deceased individual had left the mosque following the conclusion of the Ramadan prayer.
“He was assassinated the moment he left the mosque after Taraweeh prayer, very close to his house, around 8:35 p.m. on Saturday.
“After he left the mosque, some persons dressed in white attire alighted from a motorcycle and stayed around the place.
“As he was about to enter his house, they ambushed him and shot him. He was shot at close range, and he died on the spot.”
Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, who serves as the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, acknowledged the event and indicated that an inquiry had been initiated.
