Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has received 59 kidnapped victims rescued by security forces in an operation coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.

The victims were rescued along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, particularly in the Rijana community, and were handed over to the Kaduna State government.

Governor Sani cautioned politicians against exploiting security challenges for political gain, warning that such actions endanger innocent lives. He vowed to take action against individuals who deliberately fuel insecurity to advance their political interests, stating, “The merchants of insecurity will not be happy with the release of these innocent souls because they are benefiting from insecurity.”

The Governor also highlighted the success of the Kaduna Peace Model, which emphasizes the use of non-kinetic approaches. He noted that Birnin Gwari, once a “no-go area,” has become peaceful. Governor Sani promised that the people of Kauru, Kajuru, and parts of Kachia, who are experiencing pockets of bandit attacks, will soon be “sleeping with their two eyes closed because security forces are on top of the situation.”

The Governor recalled that the 59 released kidnapped victims received psycho-social therapy and treatment from the Kaduna State Government for 11 days, and one of them is still undergoing treatment. He promised to support the victims in getting back on their feet by providing grants for their businesses and farming activities.

Pastor Danlami Mutane and Malama Raliya Ibrahim thanked the government, the National Security Adviser, and the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development for their support and care.
