LMU women’s volleyball head coach kloby o Donnel has added Chris Seiffert to the coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2025 season.

Seiffert arrives at LMU from Concordia University Irvine, where he joined in 2021 as an assistant coach for the men’s volleyball team before serving as interim head coach in 2024. Under his leadership, the Golden Eagles secured historic victories over the University of Charleston and Long Island University while also mentoring multiple MPSF All-Freshman Team honorees.

Before his tenure at CUI, Seiffert was an assistant coach for UC Santa Barbara’s women’s volleyball team, helping guide the Gauchos to a Big West Conference championship in his lone season. That year, UCSB produced four First Team All-Conference selections.

Seiffert’s coaching resume also includes a stint as a volunteer assistant for UCLA’s women’s beach volleyball team, where he helped the Bruins finish the season ranked No. 6 nationally. During that time, he also served as a high-performance court coach and evaluator for USA Beach Volleyball’s junior national team.

His coaching journey began in 2011 at Long Beach State, his alma mater. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in communications and was the four-year starting setter for LBSU. He earned three AVCA All-American honors and a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team in 1999.

Following his collegiate career, Seiffert played for the USA Men’s National Team, competing in the Pan American Games, World Championships, and World League. He was also a key member of the U.S. squad that won gold at the World University Games by defeating France.

Beyond collegiate coaching, Seiffert contributes to USA Volleyball as an assistant coach for the U19 and U21 men’s national teams.

Seiffert’s wealth of experience, both as a player and coach, makes him a valuable addition to the Lions’ program as they prepare for the 2025 season.
