The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Professor Lucian Chukwu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibuzor, Delta State.
This decision was made known by the Director of Press, Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, in a statement on Saturday.
According to Boriowo, the Governing Council of the university conducted a selection exercise on February 26 and 27, 2025, where Chukwu emerged as the highest scorer with 83.41% among the five interviewed candidates.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has approved Chukwu’s appointment in line with the principle of merit upheld by the Federal Government. The appointment is for a single tenure of five years, effective from February 28, 2025.The minister wished the new Vice-Chancellor a successful tenure of office. This development comes after the institution faced a crisis following the appointment of a new head.
Professor Chukwu’s appointment is expected to bring stability and leadership to Admiralty University. As the new Vice-Chancellor, he will be responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative affairs of the university.
