Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, also known as RudeBoy of Psquare, has accused his twin brother Peter of being responsible for their elder brother Jude’s detention.
Jude, the former manager of Psquare, was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of laundering ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
At the court hearing on Friday, Paul stated that he would not abandon his elder brother, insisting that he is standing for the truth. “I’m supporting him because I know the truth. The truth is, Peter is the one putting Jude through these things. It’s Peter who is doing these. He is putting him in prison and I’m here to bring him out,” Paul said.
Paul also claimed that Peter had previously gotten him arrested by the EFCC, but he was cleared of all allegations after a thorough investigation. This development is the latest in the ongoing feud between the Okoye brothers, which has been making headlines in recent years.
Jude pleaded “not guilty” to the charges and his lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, filed a bail application requesting that he be placed under the custody of the EFCC until the hearing. The court heard Jude’s bail application on Friday, but the outcome is yet to be reported.
