Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s feud with Senate President Godswill Akpabio has taken a dramatic turn.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has claimed her troubles in the Senate started after she rejected Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s sexual advances.

Speaking during an interview with Arise TV on Friday, Akpoti-Uduaghan compared her experience to that of a student being unfairly punished by a lecturer for refusing to give in to inappropriate demands.

“My case is a case of a student being punished by a lecturer for refusing to sleep with him,” she said.

The controversy began when Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to accept a new seat assigned to her after a senator’s departure created a vacancy. This led to a heated confrontation with Akpabio, sparking widespread debate and polarized opinions.

In her latest move, Akpoti-Uduaghan has filed a defamation lawsuit against Akpabio, seeking N100 billion in damages and N300 million in litigation costs. The lawsuit stems from allegedly defamatory statements made by Akpabio’s aide, Mfon Patrick, on Facebook. The post implied that Akpoti-Uduaghan believed being a lawmaker was only about appearances, stating she thought it was all about “pancaking her face and wearing transparent outfits to the chambers”.

As the situation unfolds, Ireport247new is closely monitoring the developments, eager to see how Akpabio will respond to these latest accusations. The feud has garnered significant attention, with many watching to see how the drama will play out.
