The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is leaving no stone unturned. It seeks the truth about the tragic death of former Nigeria U20 player, Abubakar Lawal, in Uganda. Lawal, a key player for Ugandan elite division club Vipers FC, died under mysterious circumstances on Monday.
Initial reports suggested that Lawal died in a motorbike accident. However, this was later contradicted by reports of a car crash. However, the Ugandan Police revealed that Lawal actually fell from the third floor of a hotel in Bwebajja.
- NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has reiterated the federation’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind Lawal’s death. “The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed its determination to dig out the truth. We have contacted our counterparts in the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA). They will help us find out the truth,” Sanusi said.
