NFF Intensifies Probe into Abubakar Lawal’s Death

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is leaving no stone unturned. It seeks the truth about the tragic death of former Nigeria U20 player, Abubakar Lawal, in Uganda. Lawal, a key player for Ugandan elite division club Vipers FC, died under mysterious circumstances on Monday.

Initial reports suggested that Lawal died in a motorbike accident. However, this was later contradicted by reports of a car crash. However, the Ugandan Police revealed that Lawal actually fell from the third floor of a hotel in Bwebajja.

  • NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has reiterated the federation’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind Lawal’s death. “The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed its determination to dig out the truth. We have contacted our counterparts in the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA). They will help us find out the truth,” Sanusi said.

In this correspondence, the NFF is requesting FUFA’s assistance in clarifying the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of footballer Lawal. They are particularly interested in any information that could help illuminate the events leading up to this tragic incident. This situation has raised numerous questions and concerns within the football community.

Abubakar Lawal is a talented footballer. He began his professional career with esteemed Nigerian clubs. Among them was Kano Pillars, where he made a notable impact on the pitch. During his time with Wikki Tourists, his skills were further showcased. He became known for his agility and strategic play. This helped to bolster the team’s performance. Following his successful stint at Wikki, he moved to Nasarawa United, contributing significantly to their campaign with his versatile abilities.
