The Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Abdullahi Umar, has kicked off the distribution of 3,627 bags of rice to the people of Dawakin-Tofa Local Government area of Kano State, in celebration of Ramadan.

This gesture aims to support and bring succour to his constituents during the holy month.

Umar assured the people of Ganduje town that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is working hard to alleviate the suffering of the masses. He also urged them to continue supporting the government. The REA director emphasized that prices of food commodities have started dropping across the country, and this gesture is just the beginning.

Umar promised that more empowerment programmes are on the way, aimed at supporting the people and the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their loyalty while in opposition in Kano State. He commended APC members, such as Nasiru Ja’oji, Deputy Senate President, and Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, for supporting their members with empowerment programmes and gestures.

Distribution of Food Items

The food items will be handed over to executive members of the APC for onward distribution across the 38 wards in Tofa, Rimin Gado, and Dawakin-Tofa. A former Commissioner for Works and Land, Shehu Lambu, commended Umar for the initiative, describing him as generous and committed to his constituents.

This gesture demonstrates Umar’s commitment to supporting his constituents and the APC’s efforts to care for its supporters, even while in opposition. As Ramadan approaches, this distribution of rice will undoubtedly bring relief to many families in need.
