
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has praised the Igbos for their significant economic contributions to Oyo State. He made this commendation while hosting the state chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide at his palace on Tuesday.
Oba Olakulehin, speaking through Senior Chief Rafiu Onideure, Agba Akin Balogun of Ibadanland, encouraged the Igbos to continue their peaceful and lawful business, social, and religious activities. He noted that their contributions to commerce, trade, and business in Ibadanland are well appreciated and significantly contribute to the state’s economy.
“I implore you to continue with your business, social and religious activities peacefully and lawfully at all times as you have done in the past for the progress of Ibadanland,” Oba Olakulehin said.
He also commended the Igbos for extending friendship and fellowship to Ibadan indigenes, urging other non-indigenes to emulate this gesture.
Tallest Innocent, Coordinator of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo group and Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde, expressed gratitude to the Olubadan for the warm reception and appreciated the monarch’s support for the group’s peaceful process and inclusive governance approach.
