Olumide Araoyinbo, a former Majority Leader at the Ondo State House of Assembly, has called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to transform Ondo State into a major investment hub in the southwest region. Araoyinbo, who also served as the president of the Ondo State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his inauguration as the seventh democratically elected governor of the state.

Araoyinbo described Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration as “a new era for the people of Ondo,” adding that the governor has shown he’s ready to transform the state and bring prosperity to its people. He urged Aiyedatiwa to establish strong policies that would foster robust economic relationships with neighboring states in the southwest.

“As you embark on this new journey of leadership, I wish you wisdom, strength, and success in your resolve to deliver good governance and development to the people of our dear state,” Araoyinbo said. “I urge you to use your wealth of experience to serve the good people of the state and turn it into the new hub of investments in the southwest region, just as I am doubly sure that all business groups in the state are prepared to key into the economic opportunities that your administration would be creating.”

Araoyinbo’s call to action aligns with Aiyedatiwa’s existing plans to boost the state’s economy. The governor has already initiated projects aimed at attracting local and foreign investors, such as the “Develop Ondo 2.0 Investment Summit”. This summit aims to attract $2 billion in investments, create 70,000 new jobs, and engage with 100 donor partners and 1,500 investors.

Aiyedatiwa has also emphasized his commitment to transforming Ondo State into a thriving economic hub, stating that the state is “open for business” and ready to collaborate with stakeholders to create jobs, boost revenue, and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
