The bomb explosion that took place on January 6, 2025, at the Tsangagyar Sani Uthman Islamiyya School, which is situated in Kuchibuyi Village, Byazhin district of the FCT, has been verified by the FCT Police command.
A team of police officers, comprising the Command’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and the Area Commander of Kubwa, quickly mobilized to the area after receiving a distress call from the Sarki of Kuchibuyi, according to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh.
According to her, victims of the rescue operation were quickly taken to the hospital for medical treatment after being evacuated.
Three guys from Katsina had paid a visit to Mallam Adamu Ashimu, the proprietor of the Islamic institution, according to preliminary findings. The explosive device is thought to have been carried by the three guests. Sadly, two of the males who were tinkering with the improvised explosive device (IED) on the school Veranda perished in the blast, while the third man and a female trader were seriously hurt and are still undergoing treatment under police supervision.

Due to the recovery of device fragments, the FCT Bomb Squad has established that the explosion was an IED.”
Mallam Adamu Ashimu, the school’s owner, has been arrested for interrogation, Adeh continued, and more information would be released when it is available.
