In South Africa, a cigarette quarrel led to a fellow prostitute stabbing a sex worker.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon, February 22, 2025, in KwaZulu-Natal’s Verulam Central Business District.
At around 22:29, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) members were summoned to the Ndwedwe Taxi Rank on Ireland Street.
Reaction officers found a woman bleeding from a piercing wound to her neck on the ground when they arrived.
Her profession as a sex worker in the CBD was revealed to Reaction Officers by her.
A female who she knows to be a prostitute approached her.
A cigarette was asked for by the suspect. Disputes broke out between the two women when the victim declined their request.
After brandishing a knife, the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck before taking off running in an unknown direction. Thankfully, the victim made it.
