Charlie Kirk shooting suspect -The suspect in the shooting of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been taken into custody after a two-day federal manhunt.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who is believed to have fatally shot Kirk at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

“We got him,” Cox said during a news conference, adding that a family member of Robinson’s had reached out to a friend who contacted the authorities.

According to Governor Cox, friends and family members of Robinson described him as “full of hate” when discussing Charlie Kirk at a recent social gathering.

Robinson is understood to be a local resident and not a student at the university. The investigation revealed that Robinson had become increasingly political in recent years, which may have contributed to his alleged actions.

The breakthrough in the case came when a family member of Robinson contacted a family friend, who then informed the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that Robinson had either confessed to or implied that he had committed the incident.

Investigators reviewed additional video footage and identified Robinson arriving on campus in a Dodge Challenger on the morning of the shooting. Family members confirmed that Robinson drove such a vehicle.

Surveillance footage released earlier showed Charlie Kirk shooting suspect fleeing across a university rooftop before dropping down to the ground and running along the edge of the campus car park.

Investigators recovered a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark-colored towel in nearby woodland, which they believe was used in the shooting.

The rifle had cryptic messages engraved on shell casings, including “Hey fascist! Catch!” and “If you read this, you are gay, LMAO”.

Charlie Kirk shooting suspect appears now to all as a monster who should not only be put behind bars but to death for his monstrous act in taking away the life of a lover, father and mentor.

Charlie Kirk, a conservative media personality and staunch Trump ally, was fatally shot in the neck in front of a crowd of 3,000 people on Wednesday.

Kirk’s shooting led to tributes pouring in from Trump, former US presidents, and world leaders. Trump described Kirk as the “finest person” who “didn’t deserve this” and praised him as “brilliant” and “like a son”.

Kirk had helped revitalize the Republican youth vote and return Trump to the White House in the 2024 presidential election.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had invited Kirk to Israel just two weeks earlier, describing the 31-year-old as a “lion-hearted friend of Israel”.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned what he called “political violence” and commiserated with Kirk’s family. Former US President Barack Obama said “despicable violence has no place in our democracy”.

Governor Cox has pledged to pursue the death penalty when Charlie Kirk shooting suspect Robinson, is tried. Trump echoed this sentiment, adding that Kirk’s killing represents a “watershed in American history”

“The question is: What kind of watershed? And that chapter remains to be written. Is this the end of a dark chapter in our history, or the beginning of a darker chapter in our history?” Or does this also echo that Charlie Kirk shooting suspect should be killed?

Cox called on people to turn off social media and engage with fellow members of their communities, saying “This is our moment. Do we escalate or do we find an off ramp? It’s a choice.”

As the investigation continues, the nation remains shaken by the tragic event. Kirk’s killing has unleashed a wave of anger among conservatives in the US, with some blaming the political left for the murder.

The incident has also sparked a renewed debate about gun violence and political divisions in America.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Kirk’s legacy as a conservative activist and his contributions to the Republican Party will be remembered.

His ability to galvanize a new generation of conservatives posed an existential threat to leftist ideology and power, according to some Trump supporters.

With the identification and apprehension of Charlie Kirk shooting suspect, and as America mourns the loss, it remains to be seen how this event will shape the future of American politics.

The arrest of Charlie Kirk’s shooting suspect is a poignant reminder to all those in crime to know that the law will always catch up with them.
