Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali believes the Super Eagles have what it takes to secure a vital win against South Africa in Bloemfontein on Tuesday (today), as the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers reach a decisive stage.

The Eagles trail Group C leaders Bafana Bafana by six points and must win to keep their qualification hopes alive.

After seven matches, Nigeria sit third on 10 points, with two wins, four draws, and one defeat, with just three games left, they are in danger of missing a second consecutive World Cup.

Despite the pressure, Nwabali insists the squad has the quality to rise to the occasion.

“I feel like we have a very strong squad to match any country,” he told NFF TV. “We respect South Africa because they are doing well by topping the group.”

“Even though it’s going to be a tough game, I feel we will come out strong. Every game has its own plan. You might have seen them against others, but it’s a different approach when it comes to Nigeria. I feel we will win that game.”

South Africa currently lead the group with 16 points, Benin are second on 11, while Nigeria remain third with 10.

Only the group winners qualify automatically for the World Cup, with runners-up forced into a difficult playoff route.
