United States President Donald Trump has announced that his administration is working on a solution to end the war in Gaza, hours after issuing a “final warning” to Hamas.
Trump stated, “we’re working on a solution that may be very good,” describing the ongoing conflict as a “hell of a problem” that his administration wants to solve for the benefit of the Middle East, Israel, and everyone involved.
Trump claimed that Israel has accepted his terms for a ceasefire, and he urged Hamas to accept the proposal, warning of “consequences” for refusing. “Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!”
The details of Trump’s proposal remain unclear, but according to Israeli media, it requires Hamas to release all remaining captives on the first day of the truce in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners jailed in Israel.
Israel would also halt its large-scale offensive in Gaza City, and negotiations to end the war would begin under Trump’s personal oversight.
Hamas has confirmed receiving “ideas” from the US for ending the war, stating that they welcome any initiative that helps stop the aggression against their people.
The group has expressed its readiness to sit at the negotiation table to discuss the release of all prisoners in exchange for a clear declaration to end the war, full withdrawal from Gaza, and the formation of a committee to manage Gaza from Palestinian independents.

The proposal comes as Israel intensifies its campaign to capture Gaza City, despite pleas from rights groups and Western officials.
Trump’s administration has been a staunch supporter of Israel, and the US president has previously called for removing all Palestinians from Gaza and turning the enclave into a US-owned “Riviera of the Middle East” – a plan that rights advocates have denounced as an ethnic cleansing push.
The Israeli campaign has resulted in significant humanitarian suffering, with over 64,000 Palestinians killed, a man-made famine, and most of the territory levelled to the ground.
The conflict has sparked widespread international concern, with many calling for an immediate ceasefire and a negotiated solution to the conflict.
Trump’s Gaza ceasefire is to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, with a focus on securing the release of hostages and establishing a durable cessation of hostilities.
According to the proposal, Israel would halt its large-scale offensive in Gaza City, and negotiations to end the war would begin under Trump’s personal oversight.
Hamas has confirmed receiving “ideas” from the US for ending the war, expressing willingness to engage in a comprehensive agreement contingent upon a declaration of a permanent ceasefire and a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

However, Israeli officials have expressed concerns about the proposal, and the Israeli government is carefully evaluating Trump’s proposal while acknowledging the likelihood of continued resistance from Hamas.
The success of this proposal hinges on the cooperation of key regional players.
