Ondo police arrest Eze Elechi Amadi for killing his 18-year-old brother over ₦20k. He was paraded with 99 suspects linked to murder, robbery, and other crimes.
The Ondo State Police Command has paraded one Eze Elechi Amadi for allegedly killing his 18-year-old younger brother, Otu Ifeanyi, in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Akure, the state capital, during the weekend.
The suspect was paraded alongside 99 other individuals arrested across the 18 local government areas of the state for various criminal offences.
According to the commissioner, the tragic incident occurred on August 26, 2025, at about 3:00 p.m. when a resident, Oluwafemi Oladipupo of Paragon Street, Kajola, raised an alarm after spotting a suspicious blue plastic drum in front of his residence.
The drum, tightly sealed with a black rope, was being transported on a motorcycle by Amadi.
However, during the movement, the drum reportedly slipped off the bike, exposing its contents.
Upon inspection, the lifeless body of 18-year-old Otu Ifeanyi, later confirmed to be Amadi’s younger brother, was discovered stuffed inside the drum. The suspect was immediately apprehended by the police.
During interrogation, Amadi confessed to the crime, explaining that he murdered his younger brother following a heated quarrel over a financial dispute.
He alleged that the deceased had unlawfully withdrawn ₦20,000 from his Ecobank account, which led to the fatal confrontation.
The corpse was thereafter deposited in the mortuary as investigations continue.
The commissioner assured that the suspect would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile, CP Lawal revealed that in the last few weeks, the Ondo State Command had recorded “remarkable breakthroughs” in crime prevention, detection, and prosecution.
He noted that the command, in collaboration with residents who provided credible intelligence, arrested a total of 100 suspects linked to offences such as murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, fraud, drug-related crimes, theft, vandalism, and illegal possession of arms.
Recovered items from the suspects include locally made firearms, live ammunition, 30 rounds of AA cartridges, stolen vehicles, motorcycles, fake number plates (including government and spy plates), forged vehicle documents, mobile phones, mattresses, SIM cards, jewelry, and other stolen property.
The commissioner emphasized that these achievements underscore the unwavering commitment of the police in Ondo State to safeguarding lives and property.
He further attributed the successes recorded to the strategic leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, whose directives, he said, continue to inspire professionalism and efficiency within the Force.
