Oyo Head of Service, Olubunmi Oni, urges the newly inaugurated CIPM Pacesetter Chapter executives to uphold professionalism and strengthen HR practice.
The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, MCIPM, mni, has charged the newly inaugurated Executive Members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Pacesetter Chapter, to uphold professionalism and adhere strictly to the Institute’s code of conduct in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking at the official inauguration ceremony of the Pacesetter Chapter, which took place at the Head of Service Conference Room, Secretariat, Ibadan, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, Mrs. Oni described the event as a bold step toward deepening the professionalization of Human Resource (HR) practice within Oyo State.
A statement signed by Abiodun Atilola, Media Officer to the SSG/HOS, confirmed the development.
According to her, the establishment of the chapter reflects the State’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with CIPM.
She emphasized that such collaborations will play a pivotal role in shaping best practices in key areas such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, organizational development, and capacity building.
Mrs. Oni encouraged members of the newly inaugurated body to maximize the opportunities available through CIPM, noting that professional training, workshops, certification pathways, research, and policy engagements would not only enhance members’ individual capacities but also foster greater unity among HR professionals in Oyo State.
The Head of Service commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its unwavering commitment to transforming Oyo State into a hub of innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development.
She urged the pioneer executive committee to empower their members with the necessary skills and expertise required to support the state’s vision and to drive excellence across the Civil Service.

“I assure you,” she stated, “that the State Government will continue to partner with CIPM to enhance the professional competence of our workforce.
“We look forward to deeper collaborations through training programmes, research initiatives, and knowledge-sharing platforms that will reposition the Oyo State Civil Service as a model of excellence.”
While congratulating the pioneer executive committee, led by Dr. Olusoji Alaruru Adeyanju, Mrs. Oni lauded them for accepting the call to service, stressing that their leadership would shape the future of HR practice in the State.
In his goodwill message, the National President of CIPM, Mallam Ahmed Ladan, described the Civil and Public Service as the backbone of governance and societal development.
He noted that it is only through a competent, ethical, and motivated workforce that government policies can be effectively translated into impactful actions that benefit the people.
Mallam Ladan also commended Mrs. Oni for her visionary leadership and unwavering support. He observed that her dedication to nurturing a professional, ethical, and results-driven Civil/Public Service resonates with the core ethos of the CIPM.
According to him, her efforts have not only strengthened governance in Oyo State but also created an enabling environment for initiatives such as the Pacesetter Chapter to thrive.
