France international Grace Geyoro has completed a sensational move from Paris Saint-Germain to London City Lionesses in a world-record deal worth £1.43m ($1.65m).

The fee surpasses the previous benchmark in the women’s game, though it could soon be eclipsed if Chelsea trigger all bonuses in their pursuit of American forward Alyssa Thompson from Angel City, which may take that transfer close to £1.5m.

Geyoro, 28, has spent her entire career at PSG, coming through the club’s academy to make 250 appearances and score 50 goals.

During her time in Paris, she won one league title, three French Cups, and finished as a runner-up in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on two occasions.

A mainstay for the French national team, the midfielder has won 103 caps and featured in three of Les Bleues’ four matches at Euro 2025, scoring twice as they reached the quarter-finals.

Despite PSG’s reluctance to sell, Geyoro was open to a fresh challenge in the Women’s Super League this summer, making her the latest marquee signing for newly promoted London City.

The Lionesses have already strengthened with the arrivals of Jana Fernández from Barcelona, Danielle van de Donk from Lyon, former Manchester United captain Katie Zelem, and England forward Nikita Parris.

London City’s bold recruitment drive underlines their ambition to make an immediate impact in the WSL, with Geyoro’s arrival a statement of intent both on and off the pitch.
