Samuel Chukwueze has vowed to help Fulham push for European qualification after sealing a season-long loan move from AC Milan.

The 26-year-old winger completed his medical on Monday before linking up with Super Eagles of Nigeria for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking to FFCtv, Chukwueze said he was eager to make an impact at Craven Cottage.

“I can’t wait to make a difference, I can’t wait to get Fulham to where they are supposed to be — the top four, to go to Europa, go to Europe, that is the most important thing,” he said.

Chukwueze joins a squad featuring fellow Nigerians Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, along with his former Villarreal teammate Jorge Cuenca. Their presence, he admitted, has already helped him feel at home.

“I’m so happy to be here because I have my friends around, so it feels like home already. I can’t wait to see them, I can’t wait to play with them in this great club.”

The winger also praised Fulham boss Marco Silva, crediting him as a key factor in his decision.

“He was the one that called me, showed me how I could fit into his pattern and spent hours talking to me. That gave me the conviction to come here.”

After spells in Spain and Italy, Chukwueze is relishing the opportunity to test himself in England.

“Every player wants to play in the Premier League, it’s one of the best leagues in the world. For now, I’m just focusing on training hard to get the rhythm and do what I know how to do best.”

Chukwueze endured a mixed stint at Milan following his €20m switch from Villarreal in 2023, scoring three goals and providing two assists in Serie A last season. He featured just once this term before securing his move to London.

The loan includes an option to buy, with the deal potentially worth more than €25m, though the clause is not mandatory.

With 45 goals in European football so far, Chukwueze believes his pace, dribbling and one-on-one ability can add a new dimension to Silva’s side.

“I want to give 100 per cent and I believe together we can achieve a lot,” he said.

The Nigerian now looks forward to adding Premier League experience to a career that has already spanned La Liga and Serie A.
