Nigerian attacking midfielder Christantus Uche says he cannot wait to experience the famous Selhurst Park atmosphere after completing a season-long loan move to Crystal Palace from Spanish side Getafe.

The 22-year-old, speaking to Palace TV, described stepping out in front of the Eagles’ passionate supporters as a moment he has long dreamed of.

“That’s the moment I’m looking for,” Uche said. “For them to cheer my name and for me to start and be happy and excited.”

Uche revealed that signing for Palace represents the fulfillment of a lifelong ambition and an important step in his career progression.

“I feel good, and this moment is the moment I’ve been waiting for in my career. Luckily, I’m here today. This club is a big opportunity for me, for my growth and for my football career. So I’m excited to be here.”

The Nigeria international, who grew up watching English football, admitted that playing in the Premier League had always been his biggest dream.

“Premier League is a big dream for me. Since I was a kid, I was watching Premier League all the time and praying one day that I will play here. Today, I was surprised to be here, I will not lie to you.”

On why he chose Palace, Uche said the club’s environment and reputation for developing players made it the perfect destination.

“Palace is a team that every young kid wants to play for and grow from there. I chose Palace because it’s a perfect match for me. I know that I can bring something, and I know that I can grow from it.”

With Palace set to feature in European competition this season, Uche is relishing the challenge and vowed to give his all for the team.

“Palace is a good club and a good team, so it’s a big opportunity and a big moment. I’m here to bring flame, dedication and hard work. I’m here to win and to help the team achieve what belongs to them.”

Capable of playing across the forward line, the versatile attacker promised fans commitment and energy every time he takes to the pitch.

“I’m a kind of player that believes in myself too much, and anytime I step onto the field, I will give 100%. I’m a serious player. I play all the wings, so I know I will bring a lot of things into the team. This team believes in me, and I believe in the team. Together, we can do many things.”

Uche becomes Palace’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Walter Benítez, Borna Sosa, Yeremy Pino and Jaydee Canvot.
