BREAKING: Olubadan Designate H.I.M Oba Ladoja Endorses Gov. Adeleke for Second Term in Osun

The 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland designate, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, has formally endorsed Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke of Osun State for a second term in office. The endorsement was made during a congratulatory visit by Governor Adeleke to Oba Ladoja’s Ibadan residence ahead of his official coronation scheduled for September 26, 2025. This was made known in a statement signed by Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
spokesperson to the Osun State governor.

Oba Ladoja, a former Senator and Governor of Oyo State, drew striking parallels between his own political journey and that of Governor Adeleke, noting that both of them had served as Senators and Governors, while Adeleke now holds the revered title of Asiwaju of Edeland.

According to Oba Ladoja, “Every day we hear of your good works in Osun State, and we are proud of the progress you are bringing to your people. Your developmental strides should continue beyond 2026 because no one can stop the good work you are doing. I will personally attend your second-term swearing-in as Olubadan of Ibadan, because one good term deserves another,” the monarch declared.

The Olubadan designate praised Governor Adeleke’s leadership syle, saying, “Your performance as a Governor elates me. Osun is a difficult state to govern but you have changed the narrative. You are doing many wonderful things and I can see Osun people are happy with you. Keep it up. My prayer for you is that you will lead Osun to new and greater heights. You will overcome all obstacles on your path of governance. You will continue to shine as a leader of your people. The good Lord will uphold and protect you.”

“You are from a family of excellent people. Your father, Senator Adeleke, your brother, my own Serubawon, Senator and former Governor. Thank you for keeping the flag flying.”

The Olubadan Designate’s endorsement is significant, given his own experience as a Governor and Senator. Oba Ladoja’s ascendancy to the Olubadan throne is a notable milestone with many looking forward to his coronation on September 26, 2025.

In response, Governor Adeleke congratulated Oba Ladoja on his ascension to the throne, describing it as well-deserved and historic. He pledged to honor the revered monarch with a befitting celebration during his coronation, saying, “Kabiyesi, I deeply appreciate your guidance and wise counsel. Your leadership legacy continues to inspire me in Osun State.”
