Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk in a deal worth £24 million.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Molineux, with the option of an additional year.
Arokodare arrives in England after a prolific spell in Belgium, where he finished last season as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer with 21 goals, earning the Golden Boot.
In all competitions, he registered 23 goals and seven assists for Genk during the 2024/25 campaign and had already found the net against Standard Liège this season.
Standing at 6ft 6in, the powerful forward is expected to bolster Wolves’ struggling attack. Gary O’Neil’s side are currently bottom of the Premier League after three straight defeats, and Arokodare will provide support for striker Jørgen Strand Larsen — who himself was the subject of rejected £50m and £55m bids from Newcastle last week.
Arokodare began his career at Valmiera in Latvia, scoring 22 goals in 34 matches before moving to Cologne on loan in 2020 and later joining French club Amiens, where he spent two years and scored 21 times.
He signed for Genk in 2023, going on to hit 41 goals in 113 appearances, he has also scored once in four caps for the Super Eagles.
Meanwhile, two other Nigerian internationals are set for Premier League moves; Christantus Uche, 22, has signed for Crystal Palace from Getafe, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the midfielder has completed the move to the London based club.
Uche scored four times in 33 La Liga appearances last season and has opened his account this term.
Samuel Chukwueze is another Super Eagle to land in the Premier League as London based Fulham have completed a €25m deal for the 26-year-old winger from AC Milan.
The deal according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano which includes bonuses, is finalized after he completed his medical in London.
